Neighbourhood Planning and Housing focus for 2015 AGM

Friday, 11 September 2015 14:53

Our 2015 AGM will be held on Saturday 10th October at Countesthorpe Village Hall, Station Road, Countesthorpe, LE8 5TB with an 11.00am start and 3-15pm finish.

This year the event combines the AGM with opportunities to discuss two major issues - Neighbourhood Planning and Housing – and has CPRE’s national Chair, Su Sayer, as the keynote speaker.

The morning session begins with the regular AGM business.  A major item on the AGM agenda is the proposal to change our charitable status to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).  This will require us to adopt a new constitution which needs to be approved by members at this meeting.  A copy of the draft constitution is attached to this page.

The afternoon will begin Su Sayer talking about the work of CPRE on issues of current concern nationally and locally.  Since becoming national Chair in June 2014, she has been visiting CPRE branches across England.  So this will be an opportunity to hear from her what lessons she has learnt from these branches.

The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to two workshops.  One led by Matt Bills, Neighbourhood and Green Spaces Officer at Harborough District Council, will focus on Neighbourhood Planning. The other one led by Tony Stott, CPRE Leicestershire’s Chair and Ian Biddulph, East Midlands Regional Chair, will explore alternative ideas that CPRE have been developing in its Foresight papers for innovative ‘blue sky’ policy solutions for providing housing.

For the AGM, nominations are sought for the Branch Officers and members of the Executive Committee. While most of the current officers and committee members are seeking re-election, the positions are open for other nominations. These need to be sent to Joyce Noon no later than 26th September 2015. For details, please see AGM notice and forms attached to this page.

There will be a charge of £8 for the buffet which will be payable in advance so that caterers can be sure of numbers. For tickets, please contact Richard Windley on 07970 079855 or via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Come and join us for this event, enjoy a buffet lunch, interesting talks and discussions and the company of like-minded CPRE members.
