Love Leicestershire’s countryside? Help protect it.

As we mark our centenary, we’re calling on Leicestershire to help shape what comes next. Add your voice to our open letter.

Let's protect what makes Leicestershire special.

We work to promote, protect and enhance Leicestershire’s countryside.

Our focus is practical and local. We engage with planning decisions, support parish councils, work with communities and deliver projects that improve the quality and resilience of our landscapes.

There are several ways to get involved, whether you represent a council, run a business, want to volunteer or wish to support our work.

Parish Council Membership

Planning decisions are becoming more complex and more frequent. Parish councils are expected to respond, often with limited time and limited specialist expertise.

CPRE Parish Council Membership provides structured, professional support to help you respond with clarity and confidence.

With membership, you gain:

  • Direct access to expert planning guidance

  • Concise briefings and draft response support

  • Advice on neighbourhood planning

  • Help influencing district plans and strategies

  • Access to our Land Use Mapping tools

  • Training workshops and webinars

  • Member-only planning updates and resources

This is designed to strengthen your parish’s voice in development discussions, ensuring decisions are informed, evidence-based and aligned with policy.

Corporate Partnerships

Leicestershire’s countryside is under increasing pressure from development, infrastructure expansion and environmental change. We work locally to ensure growth is balanced with protection, giving communities the expertise and confidence to shape decisions affecting their environment.

We are building partnerships with organisations that want to contribute to practical, visible environmental impact across the county.
