How we help and work with Parish Councils in Leicestershire

We work to promote, enhance and protect a thriving countryside across Leicestershire. We do this in a positive and sustainable way, working with local parishes, organisations, businesses and developers to ensure the balance between progression and protection of our critical natural environment.

Our Work with Parish Councils in Leicestershire

We’re building stronger and better relationships with parish councils in Leicestershire and we offer a full range of support for you. By registering your parish council as a CPRE member, together we can be more effective in protecting the Leicestershire countryside and help support local communities for generations to come, without stifling important development projects.

Parish councils join CPRE for a variety of reasons. The main one is that we provide a source of sensible and objective information on a full range of planning matters as well as issues such as light pollution, tranquility, litter and water. Often parishes turn to us when faced by a major, or unpopular planning application.

We provide all of this support in Leicestershire AND we also get out into the community and run a number of countryside activities, including tree planting, meadow making, working in public spaces and with local landowners and farmers.

From just £60 a year, parish councils can benefit from CPRE’s invaluable range of online and print publications giving practical help and information on planning and countryside related issues.
